Bennett Construction Ltd were appointed in 2006 by Westmeath County Council to design and build their New Civic Headquarters in a Town Centre site in Mullingar. The project threw up many challenges for the design team and construction team which they had to overcome. These included an extensive archaeological dig with many historical artefacts and remains uncovered.

The site was also situated in a tight town centre location with logistical planning needing special attention to detail. The site straddles protected structures and these had to be incorporated into the design solution. However the project was delivered to the client on time and to the fixed price lump sum agreed at the project outset.
