The Bar Council of Ireland - Law Library & Barrister Office Centre

The integration of the new structure with the existing structure required the design of numerous ‘temporary works’ by BCL engineers to meet the challenges that arose on an almost daily basis.

Development Summary

The project was carried out in four phases; first, the interior of an existing distillery building was demolished, while retaining and propping the preserved external walls; next a new steel frame with wide span precast flooring was erected inside the walls of the building; the existing stonework was then reconditioned and aluminium panelling and curtain walling used to provide external facades for all of the new elevations.

The integration of the new structure with the existing structure required the design of numerous ‘temporary works’ by BCL engineers to meet the challenges that arose on an almost daily basis.
